HOW TO MAKE IT

Let's cook.

01

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger.

02

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the finely chopped slivered almonds.

03

In a small saucepan, combine the honey and orange blossom water. Heat over low heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the honey is warm and runny. Set aside.

04

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

05

Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying 3-4 fritters at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

06

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritters from the oil and immediately transfer them to the warm honey syrup. Let them soak for 30 seconds to 1 minute, ensuring they are fully coated.

07

Remove the fritters from the syrup and place them on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to drain any excess syrup. Serve warm.
