HOW TO MAKE IT

Let's cook.

01

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

02

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, diced green bell pepper, cumin powder, coriander powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands until all ingredients are well incorporated.

03

Carefully open each pita bread to create a pocket. Divide the seasoned beef mixture into 4 equal portions.

04

Stuff one portion of the beef mixture evenly into each pita pocket, spreading it out to the edges. Ensure the meat layer is not too thick to allow for even cooking.

05

Brush both sides of each stuffed pita with olive oil.

06

Place the stuffed pitas on the prepared baking sheet.

07

Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the pita is golden brown and crispy, and the beef is cooked through with no pink remaining. The internal temperature of the beef should reach 160°F (71°C).

08

Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into wedges and serving.

09

Serve hot with a side of yogurt sauce or a simple salad.
