HOW TO MAKE IT

Let's cook.

01

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a small baking dish.

02

In a medium saucepan, combine the dried figs, water, and granulated sugar. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook for 15 minutes, or until the figs are plump and tender. Remove from heat and drain the figs, reserving the syrup.

03

Carefully make a small incision along one side of each fig, creating a pocket. Be careful not to cut all the way through.

04

In a small bowl, mix the chopped walnuts and ground cinnamon.

05

Stuff each fig with approximately 1 teaspoon of the walnut mixture. Arrange the stuffed figs in the prepared baking dish.

06

Pour about 1/4 cup of the reserved fig syrup over the figs in the baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the walnuts are lightly toasted and the figs are caramelized.

07

Serve warm, optionally drizzled with a little heavy cream or a spoonful of the remaining fig syrup.
