Let's cook.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or an 8x8 inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter.
In a large bowl, whisk together the whole milk, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until the batter is smooth and well combined.
Arrange the fresh raspberries evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Carefully pour the batter over the raspberries in the dish.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is set and lightly golden brown around the edges. A knife inserted into the center should come out mostly clean.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. The clafoutis will puff up during baking and then settle as it cools.
Dust generously with powdered sugar just before serving.
